Subster ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Subster iOS application ("App").

Subster is a subscription tracking application designed to help you manage and monitor your recurring subscriptions on your iPhone. We take your privacy seriously and want to be fully transparent about our practices.

2. Data Collection and Storage

What Information We Collect

Subster only stores information that you manually enter into the App:

• Subscription Details: Service names, pricing, billing cycles, start dates, and categories that you voluntarily enter.
• Reminder Preferences: Notification timing preferences you configure for subscription renewals.

Where Your Data is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device. Subster uses SwiftData, Apple's native local database framework, to store all your subscription information directly on your iPhone. This means:

• Your data is not transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers
• Only you have access to your subscription data
• No account or login is required to use the App

3. iCloud Backup

Subster supports optional iCloud backup through Apple's native iCloud infrastructure. If you have iCloud enabled on your device:

• Your subscription data may be backed up and synced via your personal iCloud account
• This data is stored in your own iCloud account, not ours
• We have no access to your iCloud data at any time
• iCloud backup is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

You can disable iCloud backup for Subster at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud on your device.

4. Notifications

Subster can send local push notifications to remind you of upcoming subscription renewals. Specifically:

• All notifications are generated and scheduled locally on your device
• Notification data is never transmitted over the internet
• We do not use push notification services or external servers to deliver reminders
• You can disable notifications at any time via your device's Settings → Notifications → Subster

5. No Network Communication

Subster operates completely offline:

• The App does not require an internet connection to function
• No data is sent over HTTP or any other network protocol
• There are no external API calls or server communications
• Your subscription data is never transmitted to the internet

6. No User Tracking or Analytics

Subster does not track, monitor, or analyze your usage:

• We do not use analytics tools or services
• We do not collect usage statistics or behavior data
• We do not track how you use the App
• We do not collect crash reports or performance data
• We do not use cookies, beacons, or similar tracking technologies

7. No User Accounts or Authentication

Subster does not require user login or account creation:

• No username or password is required
• No email address is collected
• No personal identification information is collected
• No account information is stored on external servers

8. Data Security

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, the security of your subscription information depends on:

• Your device's operating system security features
• Your device's lock screen and authentication methods (PIN, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.)
• Your device's file system permissions
• Physical security of your device

We recommend protecting your device with a strong lock screen password or biometric authentication to prevent unauthorized access to your subscription data.

9. Data Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

• You can delete individual subscriptions at any time through the App
• You can delete all data by uninstalling the App
• Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all stored subscription data from your device
• We have no way to access or recover your data after it is deleted

10. Third-Party Services

Subster does not integrate with or use any third-party services that would access your data:

• No third-party analytics services
• No third-party advertising networks
• No data sharing with any external parties

The only external infrastructure involved is Apple's iCloud, which is entirely under your own Apple ID and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

11. Children's Privacy

Subster does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal information or require any registration, there are no special protections needed. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please note that no personal data has been collected or transmitted.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
